Calling lovers of beer, local suppliers or foraging! We have just the event for you.
We love meeting new local suppliers, finding other people as passionate as we are about good food and drink and in working with as light a touch on the environment as possible. So we were pretty thrilled when we stumbled upon the amazing Earth Ale recently. From their new brewery based outside Abingdon, Earth Ale craft innovative, small-batch beers using ingredients foraged from the Oxfordshire countryside and surplus produce from other suppliers, and are starting to build quite the following in the industry.
Alex, Earth Ale’s founder and head brewer, was previously a chef in London and at the heart of each Earth Ale beer is its ability to pair with food. So, we thought the best way to introduce you to our newest supplier would be a special supper club, four courses of seasonal food from our head chef, Aimee, each paired to one Alex’s beers.
Join us on Monday 11 July (starting at 6.30pm), where Alex and Frances will begin the evening with a talk about Earth Ale, their story and approach to brewing. This will be accompanied by a tasting in the bar area of Pigs of a variety of their beers. Then, sitting down, guests will have four courses of food from our kitchen team (see the menu below), each paired and inspired by one of the Earth Ale beers. Tickets cost just £55pp, including tasting and meal.
