For us here at Pigs, autumn means apples! This year, we’ve been working closely with the wonderful Brightwell Orchards Group, a community-group in our neighbouring village of Brightwell-cum-Sotwell. Back in 2014 the volunteer group planted a community orchard in the heart of the village and have been celebrating the most British of fruit ever since.

This year, we are joining in the celebrations of their annual Apple Day, held on the 15th October at the Brightwell Recreation Ground. It is a wonderful family-focused day, where guests are welcome to bring apples to be juiced, visit the orchard for a tour and much, much more.

We will be there providing some edible treats too, rumour has it a buttered apple and Nettlebed toastie, so don’t miss out!
